Exposure Compensation/Bracketing Assignment

These are not examples of how I want your assignment pictures turned in. They are just examples of what exposure compensation does.
OBJECTIVES:
To use exposure compensation to achieve correct exposure for your subject. This is something you should always be thinking about and doing for a lot of subjects. When in doubt, bracket.

PROCEDURES:
Two terms to know: exposure compensation and bracketing. Exposure compensation is you manually overriding the suggested meter reading. Bracketing is trying a variety of exposures for one image. Usually what the camera thinks is the correct exposure and one or two pictures under and one or two over exposed. Then you use the best one.

Place your subject inside in front of a window (this is just an exercise, don't worry about this being good art), or outside under cover with a brighter background behind them. The effect will be easier to see if the subject is inside. Take a series of 5 pictures, bracketing the exposure. One at the suggested meter setting (needle will be on "0"). One at "+1", one at "+2", one at "-1", one at "-2". These are bracket exposures.
Put them in a gallery on your website, just like the other assignments.

TURN IN:
Turn in 5 files: Label them the exposure compensation setting: +1, +2, 0, -1, -2.

EVALUATION:
Did you follow the instructions? Is this your very best work? Are the pictures properly exposed and in focus? Are they straight? Do they have an interesting center of interest? Are these new pictures taken for this assignment, not old pictures?
