Top Photo - In case you are curious: the background image was taken at Thornewood Castle in Lakewood, WA. I was there to take pictures of my brother's wedding. Steven King's movie Rose Red was filmed there. The old guy was taken around 30 years ago. It was the first image I ever printed in a darkroom. The file is an animated Gif created in Photoshop (WINDOW>ANIMATION).
To create an image that depicts a ghost or other supernatural object using a variety of Photoshop techniques. Does NOT need to animate. I just did it for fun. If you want to do that, let me know and I'll help you get started.
This assignment will require a little planning. The finished images could be a composite of at least two separate images. You could also take two pictures of the scene. one with a person and one without. Try not to move the camera between the two shots. It could also be created by using a long shutter speed and have an object move during the exposure or...? We will go over some techniques in class.
If for some reason you object to creating a ghostly image (they aren't real you know : ), do the other assignment option.
Good tutorial here
Animated gif fade-in (optional)
Another here. You would be tweening between the layer with the image with the person and the layer with the image without the person, then back the opposite way. I'll help you in class with this.
One finished 5x7 or 8x10, native resolution file.
